Verify backwash cycle is running
The AIO should backwash automatically overnight (typically 2–3 AM). Confirm the control head timer/meter is set and functioning. You'll hear water running briefly — that's normal.

|
Inspect air pocket level
The air pocket at the top of the tank is what oxidizes iron. The system refills it automatically on each backwash. If you notice iron in your water, the air pocket may need adjustment.

Check control head for error codes
Look at the digital display on the valve head. Normal operation shows the time or days to next backwash. Call us if you see any error codes.

Inspect drain line & backwash line
Ensure the drain tube is not kinked, blocked, or frozen in winter. A blocked drain will prevent the backwash from completing.

Carbon media top-up or replacement
Activated carbon media becomes exhausted over time. We'll assess this during a service visit. Call us if you notice chlorine taste/odor returning to your water.
