Your water softener removes hardness minerals (calcium & magnesium) from your water using an ion exchange resin bed. Follow this schedule to keep it running at peak performance.

Maintenance Schedule

Task Frequency
Clean the brine tank
Remove any salt sludge buildup from the bottom of the tank.
Annually
Resin bed cleaning / resin cleaner treatment
Add resin cleaner to the brine tank to remove iron fouling from the resin beads.
Annually
Professional resin replacement
The resin bed wears out eventually. Call us if your water stops feeling soft, or if you're seeing scale come back on fixtures.
